Mapleton Art Exhibit

She sat just like the others at the table.
But on second glance, she seemed to hold her cup
a little differently as she picked it up.
She smiled once. It was almost painful.
And when they finished and it was time to stand
and slowly, as chance selected them, they left
and moved through many rooms (they talked and laughed),
I saw her. She was moving far behind
the others, absorbed, like someone who will soon
have to sing before a large assembly;
upon her eyes, which were radiant with joy,
light played as on the surface of a pool.
She followed slowly, taking a long time,
as though there were some obstacle in the way;
and yet: as though, once it was overcome,
she would be beyond all walking, and would fly.

Rockwell's new painting...
My beautiful and talented friend Rebekah not only can take the most AMAZING pictures
but she also makes the most BEAUTIFUL babies...
welcome baby Rockwell
and the painting for his nursery!
sweet Rebekah had no 'real' theme for the nursery,
but told me it was blue, brown and white.
YIKES! it was free range for me! which was FABulous and nerve racking.
The first vision... a tree.
2nd vision... a nest of eggs
and it ALL flew from there!
When I dropped off the painting and saw the NURSERY for the FIRST time... I gasped!
It is so darling and the painting matched PERFECTLY!
...even the blue and white striped curtains.
Oh Becky, I hope you LOVE it as much as I do!

I had the song "I'm Yours" by Jason Marz playing on my phone when she would call it. When I changed it she was so upset. lol! So, I thought it will be best to title it I'm Yours
They have so many hummingbirds at their house and it is such a treat to watch them all. This painting just makes me smile, as does this song.

I am THRiLLED to share them with you all!
New Pictures, some NEW titles and a new LIGHT!
My passion for painting is apparent on this blog... but my passion for music runs almost as deep and many of my paintings were inspired by a certain song or title.
I have an iTunes play list titled "PAINT" the songs on there change from time to time, but it is vital that I listen to GOOD music while I paint. It helps me relax and get into that mode that I need to CREATE something that comes from within.
So, along with the new pictures I am including the songs that go along with them... or the poem that inspired them. I hope this will give you all a better idea of where these creations come from. ENJOY!!!

Rebekah Westover
{only one of the BEST photographers I have ever know}
will be taking photos of ALL of my paintings Tuesday!!
She is extremely talented and I can't wait to see how the paintings will
look with a high quality photo, instead of my pathetic pics. lol!
I also did a painting for my mom-in-law that she LOVED
{thank goodness}
I will post pics of that one soon as well!
